Special Education Program

Middle School Special Education Program (8 slots)

(Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 1:00 pm)

To meet the educational needs of middle school students with disabilities who experience extreme difficulties in adjusting to their regular school environment and display significant behavioral challenges that may or may not be directly related to their identified disabilities. Students eligible for the program must have a current Individualized Education Plan (IEP), have committed significant and/or repeated violations of school rules and regulations and/or school board policies and regulations, and have been unsuccessful in their regular school placement.

High School Special Education Program (16 slots)

(Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 1:00 pm)

This is a self-paced independent study program designed to meet the needs of high school students who experience difficulties in the regular high school setting. The students will take all the courses and end-of-course test required by the state of Virginia for a Standard High School Diploma, Modified Standard Diploma, or a GED® certificate. An IEP will be written for each student.
